Making New Connections – a creative sharing day for women artists in West Wales.
The steering group made up of Pip Lewis, Lisa Evans, Linda Norris, Emma Baker and Stirling Steward was successful in securing the Arts Council of Wales Sharing Together Fund for this Open Call Out for up to 30 Visual Artists including film, movement and performance in collaboration with International Women’s Day on Friday 8th March 2024.
The focus of the event is for individual artists who identify as female to share their own arts practice, as well as providing an opportunity for artists to submit an idea with an artist from another discipline, for the joint facilitation of an experiential creative workshop.
The day will comprise of a morning of Pecha Kucha presentations by eight artists, a shared lunch, followed by three participatory creative interdisciplinary workshops in the afternoon. There is also an open call for artists to attend the event as participants.
We welcome applications from any individuals who belong to a group that is under-represented. For example, individuals who face barriers due to their sexuality, social and economic background, or identify as Deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent.
We would be grateful if you could fill out the form in google drive here by Friday 24th November.
Artist presentations £40
Workshop facilitator £175 (£50 materials budget for each of the 3 creative workshops).
We will be delivering the day from 2 venues in Hermon Pembrokeshire – Y Stiwdio Hermon, and Hermon Community Hall.
You will be notified if you have been selected by December 1st 2023, and further details of the day will be shared after this date.
